Police Blotter Sept. 22-28, 2019
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 196 calls this week:

Sept. 22:
Minor Gambling: Officers arrived at Virgin River for a report of a minor gambling. A minor was cited and released for gambling.
Suspicious Person: Officers responded to a vacant lot in reference to a vehicle being vandalized. The unidentified vandal was gone upon officer’s arrival.
Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a local casino on an assist with MFR. Officers spoke to an intoxicated male who was unable to coherently answer questions. Subject was placed in Civil Protective Custody.
Fraud: Officers responded to Mesquite Police Department and took a report of a credit card fraud. This investigation is still ongoing.
Minor Gambling: Officer responded to report of minor gambling at a local casino.
Suspicious vehicle: An officer stopped a vehicle for suspicious activity outside a business. A K9
search was performed and illegal drugs later located inside the vehicle. The
investigation is ongoing.
Sept. 23:
Traffic Stop: Officers conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation. The driver of the
vehicle was arrested on two bench warrants.
Parking Problem: Officer had a vehicle with a 24-hour sticker towed off public roadway.
Trespassing: Officers responded to a report of an adult male who had been previously
trespassed from a local casino. Subject was arrested and taken to the detention
center.
Fraud: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department and took a report of a
fraud.
Background Investigation: A Detective completed a business license background investigation.
Lost Property: Report of lost prescription medications taken.
Welfare Check: Officers received an attempt to locate a female individual alert at the beginning of the shift. The female was located at a local gaming establishment gambling.
The female checked ok and was found with possession of drug paraphernalia. She was cited and released.
DUI: Officers responded to a local service station and arrested one female for driving under the influence.
Sept. 24:
Hit & Run: Officer responded to report of a hit and run. Suspect vehicle was not located.
Fraud: Report of an attempted computer scam was taken.
Phone Harassment: Officer gathered information on report of harassment.
Hit & Run: Officer responded to a traffic accident/Hit and Run. A report was completed.
Wanted Person: An adult male was taken into custody for an active bench warrant. He was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.
Agency Assistance: Officers responded to an agency assist at a local residence. Upon arrival, along with the paramedics, there was a male who appeared to be deceased. There was no evidence of foul play. Coroner investigator was dispatched to the scene.
Wanted Person: An adult female was taken into custody for an active warrant during a traffic stop. She was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center on the warrant.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: An officer was at a intersection and observed a vehicle strike a motorcycle. The at fault driver was issued a citation.
Sept. 25:
Recovered Stolen Property: Officer recovered a stolen firearm and released it to the owner.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male adult for an active warrant.
Person on Foot: Officers contacted a male with a warrant out of the Mesquite Municipal
Court. One adult male was arrested for the warrant and possession of drug
paraphernalia.
Suspicious Person: Officers responded to a report of an unknown individual inside of the wrong
House on Sun Valley Dr.
Fraud: Officers responded to a local business, for a report of an attempted fraud.
Sept. 26:
Person on Foot: Officers stopped two adults for jaywalking, one adult female was arrested for a
Mesquite Municipal Court Warrant.
Person on Foot: Officers contacted stranded Citizens.
Fraud: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a suspicious circumstance.
Domestic Violence IP w/ Weapon: A male adult was arrested for domestic battery on Dairy Ln.
Found Property: Officer recovered a firearm that was found in a local pond.
Traffic Stop: Officers initiated a traffic stop and arrested a male driver for a misdemeanor warrant.
Dead Body: Officer completed a dead body report.

Sept. 27:
Trespassing: Officers were notified by a local casino that an adult female who had previously been trespassed was back on property. Officers issued the adult female citation for trespassing and escorted her off property.
Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers took a report for a traffic accident that occurred on private property.
Driver information was exchanged.
Stolen Vehicle: Officer took a report of a stolen side-by-side. All efforts are being made to locate and identify the suspects.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to the 500 block of Hillside Dr in reference to a traffic accident that involved 4 vehicles. The juvenile driver of vehicle 1 was issued a citation for following too close.
Suspicious Person: Officer completed a fraud report.
Property Damage, Non-Vandalism: Officer completed a property damage report.
Fraud: Officer took a fraud report and all efforts will be made to identify the
suspects involved.
Property Damage, Non-Vandalism: Officers responded to a casino parking lot and took a report of property damage to a vehicle.
Traffic Stop: Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. One adult minor was cited and released for illegal possession of marijuana.
Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop. A male was arrested and taken to the Mesquite Detention center.
Sept. 28:
Traffic Stop: Officers initiated a traffic stop and arrested a male driver.
