Overton Power District No. 5 (OPD5) has been notified by their power supplier, that the repairs of the transmission power pole initially scheduled for Wednesday, July 24, 2019, needs to be rescheduled for a later date. As stated in a previous Public Notice, the power pole is located outside of OPD5’s service territory and is part of the 230 KV transmission line that feeds power from the regional grid into the Tortoise Substation.
As soon as OPD5 receives a confirmation of the new schedule, OPD5 will release a new Public Notice, and will take the necessary steps to keep its customers, emergency personnel, local authorities, and first responders informed until these repairs are completed. During the re-pairs, there are no anticipated problems, and there should be no interruptions of service, how-ever, due to the nature of the work that needs to be done, OPD5 suggests its customers to be prepared in the event of an unplanned power outage.
