The joys of socialism are everywhere; some people just cannot see them. Think about free college, freedom to do the things you like for as long as you like even if it provides no value to anyone else. Just the thought of all the free time, time to travel, time for sports, time to pursue artistic endeavors. Free medical care, free drugs, (whatever kind you like).

That is the dreams of socialism and they are all true and available to a few, as long as the people who produce wealth that can be taken away from them, so the few can have a great life. That great life starts at the top, the ruling class and then begins the trickle-down effect. First in line are the ruling class and their fellow-travelers, then the enforcers who make it possible.

Yes there are those who do not like the idea, like the producers who do not like what they earned taken away to give to someone who’s not producing anything. But they miss the point of helping others who are not as fortunate as to having great ideas and being able to work at putting those ideas into something successful.

There have been these resisters in other countries that have implemented socialism but they have been dealt with and progress continues. Sometimes some people try to leave and not contribute their share and so we have to restrain them. The good news is that if we make examples of a few that sends a signal to the rest of the people. Yes, there have been some excesses in some places but here in America we are smarter and will make it work.

Think of the joy of it all, no more struggling to pay bills, no more pressure to do more, only more free stuff. Still some say it will not work and it has not worked other places, they are so wrong. The problem is some may not want to work hard to give their earning to others but that’s just taxes. We may not have enough to pay for all this free stuff, we have the printing presses do we not?

So there it is our future, we turn away from the path we have been following for 250 years to find a better life for those less fortunate and those who guide us along. Too long have we forced people to work hard to get ahead and now we can all coast. Capitalism has been good up to a point but we are now past that point. Too many people have started with nothing and became millionaires or some even billionaires without sharing the fruits of their labors with those who are not as industrious.

Why should those who work hard and have great ideas not share their wealth with the rest of us so we can peruse our interests and dreams without having to work for them?  Someone once said the democracies only last about 200 years and I guess our time is up.

Alexander Tyler said: “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.  A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.  From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to a loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”
