The Members of the Mesquite United Methodist Church (MUMC) held a Halloween Carnival for the children of Mesquite on Oct. 30 which included several fun activities, cupcake decorating and a cake walk.

Traditionally the event was held on Halloween but this year the committee thought they’d like not to compete with Trunk-or-Treat and held it a day earlier. Unfortunately because of the change of dates, the event wasn’t well attended but those that came were laden with toys, cupcakes, cakes and candy when they left.

Emmalyn Wooten was more than happy to cluck her way around the various activities for the kids during the Mesquite United Methodist Halloween Carnival held on Oct. 30. Her favorite activities were the cake walk and the cupcake decorating that she got to do all by herself. The cupcakes, donated by church members, were quite tasty and passed Chicken Little’s official approval. Photo by Teri Nehrenz

Church members would like to thank everyone who did come and participate. It was all for the kids and part of the MUMC’s youth outreach. They plan on trying even harder next year and hope you all keep them in mind when it’s time to put those costumes on next year and enjoy a safe holiday celebration.
