Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Allan Litman, and the Mesquite Color Guard will be welcoming the Women’s History & Culture Center with a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Oct. 11 from 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 175 N. Willow St., #23.
The mission of the Women’s History & Culture Center is to share information on women’s achievements and multicultural issues that will help improve the quality of life of women and men in the greater Mesquite area.
The center offers biographies on women pioneers, a military corner dedicated to warrior women from ancient to modern times and a separate area called Girl Power that will provide inspirational role models for young girls and stories of famous women growing up.
The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce along with Mayor Allan Litman will welcome 333 Eagles Landing with a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony at 1057 Lower Flat Top Dr., Mesquite, NV on Tuesday, October 16 at 10 AM.
333 Eagles Landing will be celebrating their grand opening by having drawings and giving away prizes courtesy of some of their top vendors such as Red Bull, Monster, Pepsi, and Core Mark.
General Manager Kenny Huff, who has 26 years of truck stop and convenience store experience, explained that the Travel Plaza will have a convenience store and fuel center, Mr. Taco, Chesters Chicken, Pepperoni’s Pizza, liquor store, and tire center. Wendy’s will also be joining the family, but will be opening at a later date.
The six citizens running for Mesquite City Council have been invited to question and answer session by the Nevada League of Women Voters on October 16 at 6:00 p.m. This forum will be moderated by Doctor Sondra Cosgrove. The function will be held in the Mesquite Community Theater located at 150 Yucca Street. Please put this event on your calendar for an opportunity to hear your candidates for City Council speak on issues important to the future of Mesquite.
Remember to send in those event notices, the summer is coming to an end and things are going to be happening that you’ll want folks to know about. Send them to terin.bbm@gmail.com so you can everyone know what’s happening with your group or club.
