The Virgin Valley High School Bulldog football team will face the Democracy Prep Blue Knights for the first time in their long football history. The Blue Knights moved up from Division 2A despite limited success. The move was made because of Blue Knight domination in other sports especially basketball. The Blue Knights started strong defeating 4A Coronado in their first game of the season. Since then, the Blue Knights have dropped their last 3 games to Moapa Valley 41-6, Boulder City 23-8 and in their last outing 24-13 to Sunrise Mountain. The Blue Knights are led by quarterback Micah Gayman who passed for 212 yards in the loss to Sunrise Mountain. The Blue Knights also feature speed in their receivers led by Kelley Jones and runner Ramon Green who are averaging about 20 yards per reception.

The Bulldogs should add Democracy Prep to their winning streak after crushing Western in their last game 60-6. The Bulldogs will count on their running attack led by workhorse Wyatt Delano who is averaging over 8 yards a carry. Quarterback Mebs Hollingshead has been constant with his passing throwing for over 500 yards in the first four games plus averaging almost 10 yards on Q.B. options. The Bulldogs will have too much firepower for the Blue Knights and should be able to march down the field with their running attack. The Dawgs should have their second big win a row. Coach Matt Woods was able to give game experience to younger players last week and they should contribute more to the Bulldog offense.
