William (Bill) Oskin was installed as the 2016-2017 Exalted Ruler of the Mesquite Elks Lodge #2811 at its annual installation meeting, March 20. He will assume the office on April 1. The Honorable Ken Catlin Jr., President of the Nevada State Elks Association, from the Fallon Lodge, conducted the swearing-in ceremony. Elk members from around the State including Lodges from Boulder City, Fallon, Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Laughlin, Pahrump and St. George along with members of the Mesquite Lodge attended the event.

Oskin is the 16th Exalted Ruler of the Mesquite Elks Lodge since its founding in 1999. His election to this position represents the strong leadership he has provided and his ongoing commitment to the Mesquite Elks Lodge and to the citizens of this community.

The other officers installed were Harold Straley, Leading Knight; Valerie Todd, Loyal Knight; Jeff Robertson, Lecturing Knight; Gilbert Niimi, Secretary; Don Worley, Treasurer; Yvonne Lum Kee, Tiler; Chuck Thompson, Inner Guard; Bill Funk, Esquire; and Darlene Carpenter, Chaplain.

Oskin described his motto for this next year as “Looking to the Future” through a strong commitment to the members of the Mesquite Elks Lodge and its service to the community. And finally, he thanked Rick McDonald, outgoing Exalted Ruler, for his outstanding leadership this past year and his commitment to the members of the Mesquite Elks Lodge.
