The Mesquite Showgirls Third annual Bingo Bash Fundraiser

The Mesquite Showgirls will hold their third annual ‘Bingo Bash’ on October 15th at the Rising Star Hotel Ballroom at 1:00PM with a lot of goodies to go around. 

Becky Boyd is the  President of the Mesquite Showgirl’s. She said The Bingo Bash is one of two fund-raisers the Mesquite Showgirls do every year.This is their third annual and tickets are on sale now and open to anyone.

“There is always something for everyone’s taste to win,” Boyd said. “ Every year we see more gentlemen join us.”

“Every attendee receives a bingo card and a goody bag,” Boyd said.  “We will play eight games with cash payouts. During the break, and at the end of the Bingo Bash, attendees will have  a chance to win door prizes, raffle gifts and 50/50 cash. Very few attendees walk away without a gift. This year there will be a fashion show at the break featuring items from Stephen’s Boutique, Juniper Outpost and JS Merchants. The fashion show will have mens as well as women items.”

Money they  obtain from this  fundraiser is used to pay for storage and upkeep of their costumes which they wear at many community events and activities; where they bring the bling, Boyd said. 

“Without our fundraisers the Showgirls would not exist,” Boyd said. “The amount of costumes, headdresses, hats, wigs and accessories are too vast to fit in a closet, and the feather headdresses need a climate controlled environment.”

Many in the Mesquite Community have coined the phrase, ‘It’s not an event if the Showgirls aren’t there.’ This one is no exception and all the showgirls will be in costumes with big smiles, Boyd said. 

“The Mesquite Showgirls are an all-volunteer group of ladies of all ages who bring a lot of pizzazz to an event, “ Boyd said. “ We do not charge for our services, but we gladly accept donations, and we are very appreciative. We are always looking for ladies who want to give back to our wonderful community with a great smile and a volunteer heart.”
