Two from Wyoming Arrested for Drugs and Firearm Charges  

In the afternoon of Saturday, September 12, 2021 a Mesquite police  detective conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. While speaking  with the adult female driver and the two adult male passengers, the detective observed  evidence of illegal drug activity inside the vehicle.  

A drug sniffing K9 who is highly trained and certified to smell for the scent of illegal  drugs was deployed and alerted to the scent of illegal drugs inside the vehicle. During a  search of the vehicle detectives recovered 7.5 grams of heroin, 3.5 grams of  methamphetamine, and several items of illegal drug paraphernalia. Detectives also  recovered a loaded firearm with an illegally removed serial number.  

The driver, Michelle Marie Quiles, 41, of Cheyenne, WY, was arrested and charged with  felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of heroin, and misdemeanor  possession of drug paraphernalia.

Alexander Quiles Jr, 36, of Cheyenne, WY, was arrested and charged with ex-felon in  possession of firearm, felony possession of firearm with obliterated serial number,  misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor open container of  alcohol.

Due to the felony charges, both were transported to the Clark County Detention Center  in Las Vegas, Nevada.  

“This arrest highlights the very dangerous and unpredictable combination of illegal drugs  and firearms” stated Chief MaQuade Chesley. “Unfortunately, our officers and detectives  come across this combination all too often. Thankfully their hard work is making a  difference in Mesquite and I applaud them for their continued efforts to keep Mesquite  safe”.
