There will be a two-year anniversary vigil and forum held in Beaver Dam on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. (Arizona Time) in respect and remembrance of Jerry and Susan McFalls at 3344 McNight Ave., Beaver Dam (corner of McKnight and the old 91 Highway, across from the Beaver Dam fire station).

Susan and Jerry McFalls owned a home in the sleepy little desert town of Desert Springs, Arizona, where they spent the winter months. In the summer, they returned to their primary home in northern Utah. They were described by neighbors and family members as “folks who will give you the shirts off their backs. They’re helpful to the neighbors, wonderful parents and grandparents; the nicest people you’ll ever want to meet.”

They were brutally murdered two years ago.

The couple initially went missing sometime between Jan. 11 and Jan. 21, 2018; residents of the Arizona Strip began searching the surrounding areas on Feb. 1, 2018, and the search efforts continued until the remains of Susan McFalls were found on Oct. 15 and family members notified of positive identification on Oct. 18, 2018.

David Bounsall, a fugitive recovery specialist in Clark County, heard about the missing couple and has been offering his help though out the two-year-long investigation. Bounsall organized many weekend search efforts for the couple and now wants the community to know that even though there hasn’t been any recent news, the Mohave County detectives along with Bounsall are still on the case.

Two sets of remains were found at this site on Oct. 15, 2018. One set of remains was positively identified as Susan McFalls while the other set of remains has yet to be identified. The memorial was erected right next to the shallow grave (indented dirt is the actual spot where the remains were buried) where the remains were discovered 10 months after the couple was reported missing from their home in Desert Springs, AZ. “Gathering evidence takes time, this is a horrible crime and things must be carefully examined so the person/persons responsible for this heinous act are caught and ultimately convicted,” he said. “We need to get justice for Susan and Jerry; we’re not stopping until that happens. Getting the community together for this memorial keeps Susan and Jerry’s memory alive, it gives the community an opportunity to gather and keep abreast of anything that may be happening in the investigation and it lets the community know that this isn’t finished, not by a long shot. The investigation is still very active, and you never know, maybe someone will show up who has some new information, anything is possible.”

Even family members think anything is possible. According to a previous statement to the MLN in an interview conducted during the initial searches with Bounsall and the McFalls son and daughter in law,  “Somebody has to know something, and a secret isn’t a secret if more than one person knows it.” said Maridee and Jerry McFalls. “Bounsall is a serious guy, he’s an expert in his field, he’s sharp as hell and we have new hope. We will never stop looking,” said the McFalls’ family members.

Even though the search for Susan and Jerry has concluded, the search for those responsible for their murders remains active.
