Mesquite, Nevada, Geno Withelder, 80, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Mesquite, NV.  He was born on May 19, 1939, in Pottsville, PA.

Geno entered the Navy and was stationed at Moffett Field, California for four years. After a snowy Pennsylvania winter, he then moved to Northern California to enjoy the sunshine.  Geno worked in the food and beverage industry and at the same time, began his real estate business that continued for the next 40 plus years.  He and his wife, Barbara, moved to Mesquite, NV in 2001 where Geno continued his career in real estate as a sales/broker with Premier Properties, Mesquite.

Geno was an avid golfer and loved the Mesquite golf courses.  He was on the Mesquite City Council for 10 years which was one of the loves of his life.  Geno was instrumental in the genesis of several projects in the Virgin Valley: Mesquite Little League, Golf for Kids, and Geno’s Golf Club to name a few.  He was also an active member of the Mesquite Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Barbara and her children Lisa LaMaack and Diana Barbatti of San Jose, CA., his two sons, Christopher, of Mesa, AZ. and Matthew of Campbell, CA, by his former wife Sandra Withelder of Gilbert, AZ, His sister, Elaine Reif of Reading PA. and niece and nephew Michael and Jennifer.  He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Jimmy, Jessica, Mitchell, Myles, Olivia, Ash, Alexander, Xavier and his great granddaughter Brynlee.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mesquite Elks Lodge, 545 Riverside Road on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM.
