The Rancho High School Rams bring a 1-5 record into their Friday Oct. 4 matchup with the host Virgin Valley High School Bulldogs. Rancho football teams have had a tough road to follow the past four years as their record during that span is 2-32. Despite that record the Rams show up each week to battle their opponents. The Rams did defeat the equally hapless Western High School 35-0 for their only season win. The Rams defense played well in their last outing against Moapa Valley, losing by a score of 19-7. The Rams are led by sophomore quarterback Kole Lindholm and a bevy of small quick running backs. Their lines are big but not athletic but still may cause problems for the Bulldog running game. The Bulldogs will counter with their running game led by Wyatt Delano, Wyatt Anderson and quarterback Kyler Sudweeks. The Bulldogs are coming off of a big 14-7 win over Boulder City last week. A huge defensive effort kept the Dawgs in the game. The Dawgs offensive and defensive lines came up big and should control the game. On paper, the Bulldogs should easily handle the Rams, but that’s why they play the game.
