Tonight (Wednesday) we will have a debate by the Democratic contenders for President. After seeing what has happened to our current President I cannot imagine why anyone would want to take that job. But a gaggle of Democrats seem to want it.
Why would all these people want the job, perhaps to gain power and control of our Nation’s future? I recently received an old newspaper clipping announcing the death of Saul Alinsky, the author of “Rules for Radicals” the book on how radicals can take power in a country. You may have heard of the book as Hillary did her college thesis on it and Obama wrote about it in some of his books and taught a course at the University of Chicago on how to organize communities using Saul Alinsky tactics. Alinsky’s writing gave a detailed plan of how to take control of a government. It starts by taking control of the health care system so the people become dependent on government and we can see a big push for that. All the Democratic contenders are for it except for Joe Biden but he probably did not read the book as it became popular after his college days.
Taking away guns was also important so that people could not resist. Our founders were smart knowing that a Government cannot take total control if people have a way to fight back. Many will say in a civilized society you do not fight the government but is that true? In today’s world the totalitarian governments do not allow the people to possess guns. But looking at the mass shootings, one could say that crazies will use anything like knives or cars to kill.
Education is high on Alinsky’s list as you can plainly see by the rise of his believers in those that attend college. Many of which you see on stage. They received lots of the radical indoctrination in their college education. The demonstrations we see at many universities are tolerated and some encouraged by the faculty. Education stretches to how people receive information like T.V. and newspapers. There they have done a good job except for talk radio and Fox news. Fox News is only 20 years old and was start ed to balance the leftward shift of other T.V. stations and has become by far the biggest cable news provider. Some are attracted to it and that is smart because it is the only big provider of the other side of news. If this station can be destroyed there will be only one side of the news provided.
The other big stumbling block is religion, if that can be removed our society will change forever. The Christian values built this country no matter what others say. Sure America has made mistakes but there have been successes like becoming the country where anyone can practice their faith in peace. The values have led us down a path that has allowed anyone to succeed if they are willing to work for it. Yes, they may fail but they can get up and try again. Our constitution and Bible have provided the guiding light for our country to succeed.
There are a few more of Alinsky’s principles like “promote welfare” so that people must support the government to get their free stuff. “Debt” and “Poverty” increase debt, so you can raise taxes, which then creates more poverty and dependence on welfare.
Let us see which of these ideas are proposed by the candidates Wednesday night.
Oh my. You have so badly misrepresented Saul Alinsky, I’m not sure where to begin. First, he was not a Democrat, or a Republican for that matter. He was an apolitical community organizer and an admitted “rascal” about it. The person who most closely followed Alinsky’s plan for disrupting political rallies was Donald Segretti who worked for Richard Nixon during the 1972 election–Nixon referred to Segretti’s actions as “ratf…ing.. Hillary did write a thesis about him, not his writings. Obama was also an organizer and would naturally have used Alinsky as a reference. He wasn’t a Communist, he was simply a disrupter and was darned good at it. That newspaper clipping of Alinsky’s death had to be an antique. I’m away from home and away from my research sources, but he died shortly after Hillary interviewed him for her thesis in 1969, early 1970s if my memory serves me.
I can tell what Sean and Rush are pushing just by reading Mike’s columns. If all else fails, bring up someone from 50 years ago. But our problems are today, not 50 years ago. We have a President who is a white nationalist and is proud of that fact. He thinks it is what his base wants. He hears a racist segment on Fox News and repeats it in a tweet just minutes later. Trump and his father were accused of refusing to rent to blacks and Jews. He would do the same today if he could get away with it.
As for religion, our President is the least religious one in our history. He would rather party with Jeffrey Epstein than go to church. Our President would make a great Jim Bakker. What a great way to separate people from their hard earned income. Trump had Trump University but Jim Bakker had a better idea.
As for Fox News, fair and balanced is a big lie. It is not a news organization. How many pulitzers has it won? And Mike has a problem with educated people. Teachers are one of his targets. He is mad because they unionized way back in the 70’s much to their benefit. He has a big inferiority complex when it comes to people who actually went to college and learned what is in our constitution. They actually learned that we are all equal in this country. It does not matter who you are, your religious views, your ethnicity, your political views. A person from Somalia who came as a child and rose up to become a Congresswoman is the American dream, a person who should be admired. But Mike only sees her religion and can not accept the fact that she accomplished much more in life.
Mike, I respect your right to voice your opinion. But I also reserve the right to call you out as I see fit.
David – Thanks for your input, Alinsky did die almost 50 years ago but that doesn’t mean his ideas are not influencing people like Obama and Hillary. Some books like the Bible were written hundreds of years and have a great influence today, in fact our country was built on those ideas.
I’m assured that you know Trump’s mind on things and can predict how he will act.
For your information I taught at serval colleges and universities and hold a lifetime teaching credential. I also taught classes for UCLA so people could get a teaching credential. Co-wrote several class curriculum for the state of California and taught for some of the worlds largest companies. So I’m not against educated people but against those teachers who push an ideology instead of teaching students how to think for themselves.
OK, you are educated. So why would you want to demonize liberals/progressives. We would not have a country without liberals. A liberal wants to go forward while a conservative wants the status quo. We would still be part of Great Britain if the conservatives had their way in the 1700s. Any great social change was started by liberals. The greatest liberal of all time is Christ. You support a president who says he is a conservative but knows nothing of the meaning of a conservative. I am surprised that you got suckered in by this crook. You hate liberals so much that you sold your soul to the devil and supported the most corrupt person in our country. Teachers are not the problem in this country. The problem is sitting in the White House and the problem is people who got conned by the conman in chief. Mike, think for yourself and stop listening to Rush, Sean, and Fox News. Liberals are not the enemy.
“The Christian values built this country no matter what others say.” This sounds like wishful thinking. It certainly isn’t born out by facts. The Constitution, the Federalist Papers, Madison, Franklin, Jefferson, to name a few, are some of those “others” you refer to who do not support Christian values as a basis for this nation. You can wish it, but the Bill of Rights makes sure you won’t win this debate. There are Christian values and American ethos that overlap as simply being a good person just as there are Muslim and Buddhist values that ring true for living a moral life, but one did not spawn the other. Oh by the way, Alinsky did die in 1972 and is recognized by scholars far beyond Barack and Hillary as a leader and the first modern community organizer. He’s a person worth studying whether one believes in disruption of rallies or not. You’d have a tough time making much more of his scholarly work than that.
