Valley Presbyterian Church is excited to welcome Reverend Jim Dick as its new pastor after going for over a year with visiting pastors. Reverend Dick brings a variety of experience to this position. While in the U.S. Marines, he was a member of the honor guard in President John F. Kennedy’s funeral. He was a police officer in Montgomery County, Maryland, and was an F.B.I. Special Agent. He holds a Master in Business Administration Degree from the University of Minnesota, Moorhead, and a Master of Divinity Degree from Sioux Falls Seminary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After his ordination, he served churches in Rochester, Minnesota, and Jamestown, North Dakota. He was a Chaplain at the University of Jamestown and later became a faculty member in the Business Administration Department at the school. Upon his retirement, he was named Professor Emeritus. In Mesquite, he is the narrator for the Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra concerts. He and his wife, Marilyn, live in Sun City. Valley Presbyterian Church, located in the Falcon Mesa Business Park, 350 Falcon Ridge Parkway, Suite 702, across from Mesa View Hospital, has its Sunday morning worship service at 9:30 AM.
