Beaver Dam High School will open its 2018 football season at Arizona rival Fredonia on Aug. 31 at 4 p.m.
Even though BDHS is located in Arizona, the Diamondbacks are a member of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association and compete in the small-school 1A classification. Nevada 1A schools play eight-man football while the other three classifications play 11-man.
The Diamondbacks’ home opener is the following week on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. against 2A The Meadows School from Las Vegas.
Beaver Dam will travel to Alamo on Sept. 14 to play defending state 1A champion Pahranagat Valley in the Southern League opener.
The Diamondbacks host Green Valley Christian in a Homecoming contest on Sept. 21 and then hit the road for a contest at Sandy Valley on Sept. 28.
Beaver Dam hosts Beatty on Oct. 5 before traveling to Laughlin for a non-league game against the Cougars on Oct. 12.
BDHS will close out the regular season with league games at Indian Springs on Oct. 19 and at home against Spring Mountain on Oct. 25.
The Diamondbacks will be coached this season by Steve Feick, who is also the new athletic director at the school.
