Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 162 total incidents in the blotter:

Feb. 18:

Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of the driver for DUI.

Theft: An officer responded to a Haley Way residence reference a theft. An information report was completed.

Theft: An officer responded to a casino reference a stolen bicycle. An information report was completed.

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The passenger of the vehicle had in his possession an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver was issued a verbal warning for the traffic offence. The passenger was issued a citation for an open container of alcohol inside a vehicle.

Traffic problem: Officer arrived on a scene where a large tree had fallen across the east bound lanes of west Mesquite Blvd, just before the west Mesquite Blvd and Riverside Rd intersection. No injuries were observed and the tree broke a city light pole in the course of the fall.

Feb. 19:

Vandalism: Officers responded to an unfinished residence on Marilyn Pkwy in reference to a report of vandalism. An information report was completed.

Domestic trouble: Officer took a report of domestic battery which had occurred over the weekend on Harbour Dr. Information was obtained from out of state caller and investigation continues.

Stolen vehicle: Officer spoke with subject reporting stolen vehicle. Information gathered and incident created.

Grand larceny: Officer responded to a theft call on Harrier Ln. The reporting person said her son has stolen and was pawning her things. The reporting person’s son had an active warrant and police arrested him for the warrant. The reporting person wants to charge her son with theft. The investigation into the theft is ongoing.

Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation. An adult female was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Wanted person: An officer located a male adult with an active warrant, while investigating a theft.

Wanted person: Officer went to a local warrant in search for a male who had an active warrant.

The male was located and arrested for said warrant.

Feb. 20:

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a trespass violator. One adult male was issued a citation for trespassing.

Property damage, non-vandalism: An officer responded to a report of property damage. An information report was completed.

Miscellaneous CAD call record: An officer responded to a request for assistance with an elderly female who was disoriented.

Lost property: An officer received a report of a lost wallet.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer was dispatched to a vehicle accident with no injuries. Drivers information was exchanged and both drivers were cited with traffic violations.

Wanted person: A male was located and arrested for and active arrest warrant. The male was transported to the detention center and booked on the warrant.

Feb. 21:

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officers responded to a Cascade Ave. residence for a report of damage to a vehicle. One female adult was issued a citation for damaging a vehicle and released with a court date.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officers responded to a Marilyn Pkwy city park in reference to property damage in the restrooms.

Fighting: Officer responded to a report of a fight at the high school. Two students were cited for battery and released to their parents.

Mental person: Officers responded to a Moss Dr. residence reference a family dispute.

Theft: A female entered an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino restroom with her purse. Female exited restroom forgetting to grab her purse from bathroom hook. When female re-entered restroom to locate purse, purse was missing.

Stolen vehicle: Officers responded to a Commerce Circle business on a report of a theft. Information was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Fraud: Officer responded to a Wildfang Way residence for a report of fraud. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.

Litter/Pollution/Public health: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department to take a report for illegal disposal of garbage on private property. A suspect was identified.

Feb. 22:

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop for a violation. The female driver and male passenger were both found in possession of drug paraphernalia and were arrested.

Petit larceny: An officer responded to a n E. Pioneer Blvd. casino, in reference to a petit larceny and trespassing call.  An adult male subject was taken into custody for obstructing a public officer, petit larceny, and two misdemeanor warrants.

Feb. 23:

DUI: Officers responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Driver was involved in a traffic accident and taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic related charges.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department to take a report of an attempted theft from vehicle.

DUI: Officers responded to a traffic collision. One adult male was arrested on suspicion of DUI and traffic related offenses.

Missing person: Officers contacted a female in California to take a report of a missing person who was last seen in Mesquite.

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop for a violation. The male passenger was given a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Feb. 24:

Burglary: An officer was dispatched to Mesa Blvd. residence, in reference to a burglary from a storage unit.

Wanted person: Officers responded to a Garnet Ln. residence for a civil standby. A female at the residence had an active warrant. One female was taken into custody.

Theft from vehicle:  Officers responded to a Santa Maria Way residence reference a theft from vehicle incident.

Follow up investigation: An officer responded to an abandoned vehicle.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to a Pulsipher Ln. residence reference a report of theft.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a traffic accident with no reported injuries. Driver’s exchanged information and an accident was completed.

Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a trespass violation. One subject was issued a citation and released with a court date.

Battery on person: Officers responded to an agency assist call on Pulsipher Ln. While speaking to the parties involved a physical argument took place. At the conclusion of the incident one female was arrested for simple battery.

Lost property: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department, in reference to a lost property report.

Traffic stop: Officer made traffic stop on a vehicle for suspended registration. One adult female with a history of failing to appear, was arrested for the offense.

Domestic trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd. residence. One adult male was arrested for domestic battery.

Attempt to locate: Officers assisted in looking for a missing person who was reported missing from out of state.
