The VVHS Lady Bulldog softball team continued their learning curve under Coach Travis Griffiths, regimen. The Dawgs played seven games in six days going 4-3 over the run. The Bulldogs started tournament play early Friday morning March 17 in Utah against Morgan (Utah) High School. The Dawgs fell behind early trailing 9-2 after two innings before mounting a comeback before falling 13-11. The Dawgs lost a shortened match to Page (AZ) before defeating Summit Academy 11-10 late on Friday. The Dawgs trailed 10-8 going into the top of the seventh before Taylor Barnum smashed a three run home run for the win. The Dawgs continued their winning ways Saturday morning crushing Ogden H S (Utah) 20-5. Karla Correa had the hot bat with four singles in five at bats. The Bulldogs ended tourney play with a 9-4 win over Skyline H S (Utah)

The Lady Dawgs returned to Nevada play on Monday March 20 defeating Desert Pines 22-8. The big hitter for the Bulldogs was Rylea Smothers who drove in five runs in the first two innings with a double and a triple. The Dawgs led 13-3 after two innings of play. Taylor Barnum added a triple in the first to lead the Dawgs to the lopsided victory. Starter Calee Clem got the win.

The Dawgs lost their Wednesday March 20 matchup with Mojave H S 15-9. The Dawgs trailed 5-2 going into the bottom of the third inning before rallying behind a double by Abbie Boss to take a short lived lead of 6-5. The Rattlers tied the game 6-6 in the fourth inning and pulled ahead 10-6 in the fifth inning added two more in the sixth and three more in the seventh to lead 15-6. The Dawgs added three runs in the bottom of the seventh but fell 15-9. The Bulldogs out-hit the Rattlers 12-10, but committed 10 errors in the loss. Savannah Price led with three hits followed by Taylor Barnum, Abbie Boss and Melissa Vanorsdale with two hits each. The Bulldogs will get one day of rest before hosting Parowan H S (Utah) Friday in a doubleheader.
