Public invited to Veterans memorial program
The public is invited to the annual Veterans memorial program at Mesquite Veterans’ Park Saturday morning, Nov. 5 beginning at 7:45 a.m. and conclude by 8:30 a.m. There will be plenty of time to get ready for the parade. You may bring your own chairs.
Public invited to Simple Indulgence shopping event
Stop by the new Rising Star Sports Ranch on Saturday Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. and enjoy a “Ladies Day Out” set up in the Ballroom. We will have 20 vendors which will include homemade goods, jewelry, make up, pampering products, nail art, clothing, candles, books, Christmas décor and more. Shop for yourself or gifts for the upcoming holidays. Bring a nonperishable food item to be donated to Virgin Valley food bank and be entered for a chance to win a $25 gift card.
United States Flag Retirement Ceremony
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mesquite Post 7385 (VFW), with the assistance of the Mesquite Veterans Center, Mesquite Fire Department, Boys Scouts of America, Troop 2060 and Club Scouts Pack 2008 will hold a United States Flag Retirement Ceremony on Nov. 19, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mesquite Veterans Center, 840 Hafen Lane, Mesquite, Nevada.
The ceremony will honor our American Flags as they are retired from useful service. All United States American Flags requiring retirement can be left with the VFW, located at the Mesquite
Veterans Center, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All veterans and residents are encouraged to attend the ceremonies.
CSN offering Introduction to Microsoft Word
College of Southern Nevada, Mesquite campus will be offering an Introduction to Microsoft Word class. This course will cover an introduction to Microsoft Word, which is a word processing program and is a part of the Microsoft Office Suite. It is used mainly to enter, edit, format, save, retrieve and print documents. Introduction to Microsoft Word is intended to familiarize students with terminology and the most commonly used functions offered by Microsoft Word. It is scheduled to run from Nov. 15 – Dec. 8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11 a.m. The cost of the class is $75 and will be taught by Becky Hoff.
