The Friday tourney is holding up very well in all the heat and the scores are getting better by the week. Low gross was shared by Terry Spriggs (aka–Kemo) with Dave Calmelat. Calmelat didn’t have a comment but Terry says his round (76) could have been a real winner except for five penalty shots. That’s pretty awesome shooting for any player at Spriggs’ age.

Low net was shared be Mike Moreau and Alex Churchich. They are in the mix every week even though they play from different sides of the ball. When the weather cools off the scores will be even lower so hang on to your “A” game.

Three KP’s were awarded this week; two to Spriggs on holes #2 and #5 and one to Jim Buttler on hole #8. Seven scores held up for skins; three by none other than big Spriggs on holes #1, #5, and #7; Jim Buttler on #8; Alex Churchich on #10; Ron Nickle on #14; and John Johnson taking the last on #17.

There was an unusual event on a hard hole, #17, as it may be the first time that a foursome all parred with Madelon Bates making the last putt.

There is one last round for the club before the course closes for three weeks for overseeding. The last play will be on Friday, Sept. 9 starting at 6:20 a.m. There is an ‘Overseed Party’ scheduled for 12 noon on Saturday Sept. 10. Come out and join this group for fun, competition, and camaraderie. Call Mindee West at 702-346-6363 for more information.
