Douglas Adriance is a man many residents of Littlefield, Beaver Dam, Desert Springs and Scenic, AZ visit quite often. He has a face that all will recognize and a large majority will smile when they see. Adriance is the Postmaster of the Littlefield, AZ Post Office.
You can always be sure when you pick up your mail in Littlefield you’ll be greeted with a warm smile, efficient service and perhaps an exchange of some small pleasantry even when he’s busy which is most of the time.
Adriance has worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years, 10 of which have been spent in the Littlefield branch where he just recently made Postmaster. Prior to coming to Beaver Dam Adriance worked as a mail carrier in Chandler, AZ.
As well as being recently promoted to Postmaster, Adriance was also named Postmaster of the Year for 2016 by the Arizona Chapter of the National League of Postmasters (NLPM).
According to their web site the NLPM was started in 1887 to represent rural postmasters. The NLPM is a management association representing the interests of all postmasters. Although they represent postmasters from all across the country, from the very smallest to the very largest post offices, rural postmasters are a sizable portion of their membership.
Adriance said he was honored to receive this award and the recognition for a job well done. The personal knowledge that it matters means the world to him especially because he loves his job. He loves the people in the Arizona Strip he sees every day or even every now and then. It’s obvious, even to the oblivious; the people who reside in the Arizona Strip appreciate and have a great affection for him as well. You just have to visit the Littlefield Post Office a couple of times to see that nobody is ever greeted without a smile or will they leave without one. Efficient, loyal and customer friendly, it’s not hard to see why Adriance was named Postmaster of the Year.
