YEH HAS NEAR PERFECT ROUND

It was nearly a perfect 18 holes of golf for Andrew Yeh at Falcon Ridge on Tuesday. Other than a bogey and a double bogey on two par threes he managed five birdies and recorded 12 fours to shoot a very nice three under par 69. Great round!  Joe Smith had 38-43-81 for second low gross honors. He was also awarded first place low net with his 68. Second low net went to new member Kim Tomsic (82) and net 69. David Miller (86) and Manny Lira (89) were tied at net 70 which Miller won with a bogey on the 13th hole. Ben Bishop (84) and Tom Durenberger (86) were also tied one shot back at 71for 5th place. Bishop got the best of that tie with a par four on 13. Pat Smitty had the hole of the day chipping from down in the hole short of the green his ball stopped 14 feet above the hole where he made the downhill putt for a great par save.

HOEPFNER WINS ON HOME COURSE – LARSON WINS LOW NET

Ed Hoepfner back from a few days off and playing on his once upon a time home course had no problem remembering the break of the greens as he shot an even par 36 on the front nine and followed that with a 41 on the back for a nice round of 77. That was two strokes better than Andrew Yeh who had a 7 and an 8 along with three birdies for his unusual 79. Bob Chambers and Joe Smith were two shots back recording 81’s. Chambers also had the shot of the day on the hardest handicap hole the par four 5th. His drive was pulled left and it rolled down the slope just inside the bushes. He chipped out with his 8 iron to within 78yds of the green. From there he used a lob wedge to hit the green the flag stick and drop straight down into the jar for a “sweet” birdie three. He didn’t know it at the time but that birdie broke the tie between him and Joe Smith, at net 69, awarding him second and Smith third low net. The low net score was turned in by Ridge Larson (87) and net 68. Fourth low net went to Tim Bergstrom (86) and net 71 but it took till the fourth handicap hole that he won with a par. Ben Bishop (85) and Bubba Petrick (83) had tied Bergstrom’s 71. But Bishop went bogey, double, par and double to drop into fifth. Petrick had 6th all alone because he shot bogey, double and bogey. The 7th spot was won by Joel Reilly (93) and net 72 over Frank Thomasino (86) when Reilly bogeyed the first handicap hole.
