Green said the assisted living section will offer studio size, one-bedroom, one-bath apartments and two-bedroom, two-bath apartments, all with kitchenettes, while the memory care section with offer private and semi-private studio apartments.

Mesquite Mayor Al Litman, helping turn the first dirt with a gold shovel, said “this is a fabulous development and Mesa Valley is more than welcome to our city. We’re looking forward to everything they will bring us. It is much needed in our community.”

“We’ve been coming to Mesquite for about four years with our eye on this market for a long time,” Deines said. “We’re extremely happy to be here. We’re not a flash in the pan. We’re not going to build this facility and then go away. Our passion is caring for seniors and providing them a home. We’re looking forward to a long-term partnership with your community.”

“One aspect that makes Mission Senior Living unique is our desire to personally connect with the seniors,” Green said. “Not just with their medical needs but more importantly who they are as a senior. What is their journey that has brought them to us? We want to understand their history and their past. It’s not just a building, it’s a home”

The facility will employ approximately 45 people with 30 full-time positions and 15 part-time workers. “We intend to hire locally beginning with an administrator and sales person within the next 90 days,” Green said.

The company will start construction within the next month and be open and licensed within a year. Construction crews will be from the local and Las Vegas areas.

Amenities will include a bistro and coffee nook, movie theater and concierge, barber shop and beauty salon, a wellness center and a private office for visiting physicians. In addition to spacious indoor gathering areas, the community will feature enclosed outdoor courtyards with raised garden boxes for resident gardeners and cozy seating areas.

Services will include prepared meals served in the dining room, housekeeping and laundry, transportation, exercise programs, a full-time nurse on staff and an emergency call system. A personalized service plan will be created for residents who need assistance with daily activities, such as medication management, dressing, and bathing.
