Blotter Report March 6-March 12, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 157 total incidents in the blotter:

March 6:
Traffic Accident w/ Damage:  An Officer took a report of a hit and run private property accident. Vehicle was hit while parked on W. Pioneer Blvd.
Driving Under the Influence:  An officer responded to a complaint of a possible DUI driver; the vehicle was located.  The officer conducted a traffic stop on Horizon Blvd. and Hardy Way for a broken windshield and after an investigation arrested the driver for DUI.
Hit & Run: Citizen reported a damaged light pole on Santa Fe Dr. The pole appeared to have been struck by a vehicle which then left the scene.
Traffic accident W/O injury:  Two vehicle car accident at Riverside Rd. apartment complex. No injuries and driver information was exchanged.
March 7:
Wanted Person:  Officer responded to the Mesquite Detention Center on an adult male turning himself in on a warrant issued by the Mesquite Municipal Court.  Officer verified the subject by his Nevada Identification Card and placed him in custody and released him into the custody of the Corrections Officer.
Fraud:  An Officer took a report from a Pebble Beach Dr. address of a sweepstakes fraud. Information was obtained and a report completed.
Phone Harassment:  Officer responded to the lobby of the police department to take a harassment report.  Officer obtained a written statement from the complainant and a report was taken.
Fighting IP:  Officer’s responded to a Riverside Rd. apartment complex, reference a fight in progress. Upon officer arrival, one male had fled the area.  Witness statement were obtained and a report taken.
March 8:
Traffic Stop:  Two males and a female were observed sitting in a vehicle at the entrance to the Mesquite Municipal airport. After further investigation it was discovered the individuals had controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in their possession.
Truancy:  Mesquite Officer responded to a Valley View Dr. school in reference to a truant student.

Theft:  Officer responded to a Second South St. residence on a reported theft. Officer obtained photos of the scene and a report was taken.

Fraud: An Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd Address on a call of Internet fraud. Information was received and a report taken. The crime is under investigation.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to the intersection of Hafen Ln. and Riverside Dr. for a traffic accident.
Trespassing IP:  Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino in reference to a trespass violation.
March 9:
Stolen Vehicle:  Officer responded to a Golden Way residence for a report of a stolen camper trailer. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism:  Officer responded to a Second South St. city park for a report of property damage. Officer observed graffiti in several locations in the park. Investigation is ongoing.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries:  Officer was flagged down by a citizen on Hafen Lane who stated they observed a vehicle strike a bicyclist and then drive away. After investigation it was determined not to be an accident, but was an altercation between the driver of the vehicle and the bicyclist.
Controlled Substance Problem:  Detectives collected medications for the Drug Take Back Program.
Theft:  Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. department store for a report of a theft incident. Officer took a report and obtained surveillance coverage of the incident. Investigation is ongoing.
Information Report:  Police received information regarding a possible hit and run accident. An information report was completed.
Traffic Stop:  A vehicle was stopped for a traffic offense.  The driver of the vehicle was cited and released for three traffic offenses.
Hit & Run:  An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino parking lot for a report of a hit and run. At the time of the report there was no information for the offender. The investigation is ongoing.
March 10:
Truancy:  Mesquite Officer responded to a Valley View Dr. school in reference to a truant student.
Trespassing IP:  Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a violation of trespass. Subject was taken into custody, without incident, for the trespass violation.
Controlled Substance Problem:  Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. department store for a report of found narcotics. Officer took custody of the narcotics and secured it to be destroyed.
Welfare Check:  Officers responded to a Canyon Dr. residence reference a welfare check on a child. No crime was committed and an information report was completed.
Controlled Substance Problem:  Officers conducted a traffic stop on W. Mesquite Blvd. on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia and was issued a citation.
Domestic Violence IP:  Officers were dispatched to a Riverside Rd. residence for a verbal dispute.  The adult male subject, who was intoxicated and involved in the verbal dispute, agreed to stay at a hotel room for the evening and not to return home until he was sober. His adult son gave him a ride to a local hotel.
March 11:
Controlled Substance Problem:  Officer conducted a traffic stop on Turtleback Rd. and W. Pioneer Blvd. for an equipment violation. The driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia and was issued a citation.
Controlled Substance Problem:  Officers responded to a report of a nude male at a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino.  After an investigation the adult male was arrested for illegal drugs.
Traffic Violation:  Detectives made contact with a female with an active felony warrant at a Sun Valley Dr. apartment complex. The warrant was confirmed and the female was transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
Fighting IP:  Officers responded to Mesa View Hospital for a battery. One male adult was arrested.
Theft:  Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business reference a report of a theft. Upon arrival, officers learned that the subjects had left the merchandise in the store and left without committing a theft. Two subjects were checked and released.
March 12:
Traffic Stop:  Officers conducted a traffic stop on Pulsipher Ln. and W. Mesquite Blvd. for an equipment violation. It was confirmed that both the driver and passenger had warrants for their arrest. The passenger was also found in possession of a controlled substance. The passenger was arrested for the warrant and for possession of a controlled substance. The driver was also arrested for the warrant.
Suicidal Person:  Officers responded to assist Mesquite Fire & Rescue with a possible suicidal subject on Topaz Ln.  The adult male was taken to the hospital.
Traffic accident W/O injury:  An Officer responded on a non-injury traffic accident on Hafen Ln and Lewis St.  A report was completed.
Traffic accident W/O injury:  Officer responded for a report of a traffic accident on W. Mesquite Bld. involving two vehicles. Traffic report completed, photographs taken, and at fault driver was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism:  Citizens filed a report for property damage.
Theft:  A report was taken for petit larceny from a W. Mesquite Blvd. store. No suspects or accurate vehicle information were obtained.
Domestic Trouble:  Officers responded to a Topaz Ln. residence for a report of a battery. An adult female was arrested for Domestic Battery.
Minor Possessing/Consuming:  An officer conducted a traffic stop on Hillside Dr. and Sandhill Blvd. on a vehicle. The adult passenger was issued a citation for open container of alcohol.
Found Property:  An officer was stopped by a male who located a debit card in a parking lot of a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino. The card was placed into evidence as found property.
Theft:  Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. store, in reference to a petit larceny call.  The suspects involved were gone when officers arrived on scene.
Suspicious/Person:  Officers responded for a report of suspicious activity. The reporting party believed she was being followed by several unknown subjects. Officers contacted the reporting party but did not observe any additional subjects or suspicious activity.
