PETRICK WINS MEDALIST, PUTT AND SHOT OF THE DAY
Hail to the senior class! Thirteen of the 23 players teeing it up in the cool winds at Falcon Ridge on Tuesday played from the forward tees. Five of them won six of the net payoff positions. Starting with first time winner recent new member to the MMGA David Shaw won for the first time shooting 87 for net 66 for low net honors. Joe Smith (83), from the white got second low net with 71as he beat Don Mannon (86), and net 71 from the forward tees, with a bogey on hole 13. The next three spots were all forward tee players. Starting with Ben Bishop (86) and net 73 for 4th place. Bill Nelson (98) with a net 75 for 5th place and Terry Gardner (96) and net 77 for 6th. Bubba Petrick shot a pair of 41’s for medalist honors and also had the putt and shot of the day. He had a 24foot putt to a back pin on the par five 10th hole. He started it three feet above the hole. It slowly came to a stop a foot above the hole, turned ninety degrees to the right and rolled down the slope in the jar for a nice five. On the 18 th hole his third shot from 35yds out hit the green rolled to 20inches above the cup where he putted in for a nice par four.
