Bulldog forward Andrew Memmott had the hot hand Saturday evening, Jan. 2 in the Dawg House scoring a game high 22 points to lead his Dawgs to a 78-36 blowout of Lincoln County.

The Dawgs jumped out to a 21-10 first period lead after one period of play behind seven points from Marcus Saunders. Zach Barnum added four points to the Dawgs lead. Memmott hit four three’s in the second period to give the Dawgs a 47-24 advantage after one half of play. Memmott had 16 points at the break. The Lynx had no answer to the Bulldogs full court press.

The Bulldogs began the second half of play with six free throws before Memmott hit his fifth three of the game to give the Dawgs a 58-28 lead midway through the period. The Dawgs finished the quarter with a 65-31 advantage.

Bulldog reserves played the last two minutes of the third and the complete fourth period as the Dawgs won easily 78-36. Big Reid Jensen had seven points in the fourth to lead the Dawgs. Saunders finished with 11 points followed by Jensen and point guard Jarrett Tietjen with nine points each.

The Dawgs record went to 5-5 as they restart league play Monday evening against archrival Moapa Valley. The game begins at 7:30pm. The Dawgs are 2-0 in Sunrise League play.
