The Virgin Valley High School girls basketball team tuned up for their BIT Tournament this weekend by blowing out Del Sol High School, 56-27, Tuesday night, Dec. 15, in the Dawg House. The Dragons had no answer for the Bulldog fast break as the Dawgs made four quick layups and never looked back the rest of the game.

The Dawgs led 21-4 at the end of one period behind four layups by Spencer Green and two three-pointers from Brianna Todd. Green had nine points and Todd chipped in 10 to lead the Dawgs. Six Dawgs hit two points each in the second period as the Dawgs led 33-15 at the end of the half.

The Dawgs increased their lead in the third period to 45-23 behind five points each from Emma Barnum and Bernice Fiso. Bulldog reserves played the rest of the game continuing to increase the Dawgs lead as the Dawgs prevailed 56-27.

Green led the Dawgs in scoring with 13 points followed by Barnum with 10 points and Todd with nine. All 11 Bulldogs scored in the blowout.

The Lady Dawgs next game will be on Friday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. against Sierra Vista in their opening game of the sixth annual Lady Bulldog Invitational.
