Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for July 19-25, 2015.

July 19:

Wanted Person: A male with a confirmed misdemeanor warrant was released from Mohave County custody on cash bail, and then rebooked on a confirmed Mesquite Municipal court warrant.

July 20:

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to personal property stolen out of a vehicle on Muscat Dr.  A report was taken.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer responded to a Rivers Bend Dr residence to take a report of a traffic accident that had happened earlier in the day. Information was received and a report taken.

Assault IP: An Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd care facility for a report of a disorderly patient. The female did not want to be at the facility and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Domestic Trouble: An Officer responded to Mesa View Hospital, reference report of an injury to a male subject. It was determined the injury was the result of a domestic battery. Two adult arrests were made.

Business or License Problem: An officer received a complaint in reference to a business license violation on W Pioneer Blvd.

Welfare Check: An officer responded to a Sunvalley Dr residence in reference to a welfare check.  An adult female was assisted with medical problems.

Theft: Officers responded to Wal-Mart on W Pioneer Blvd for a theft call. Upon completion of investigation a suspect was cited for petit larceny.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a W First South St residence on a report of drug use. The suspect was located and arrested.

Theft from Vehicle: Officer responded to a Kelkim St residence on a reported theft from a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

July 21:

Curfew Violation: Officers responded to a W First South St residence on a curfew violation. One juvenile was cited for curfew violation and released to parents.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd casino on a report of found property.

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd residence reference a domestic dispute.  After an investigation an adult male was arrested for domestic battery and two outstanding warrants.

Intoxicated Person: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business regarding breach of peace. Two adult males were arrested on various charges without incident.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officer responded to a Riverside Rd residence for an intoxicated juvenile. One female juvenile was cited and released to her parent.

July 22:

Driving Under the Influence: Officer responded for a private property accident on W Pioneer Blvd. During the investigation the at-fault driver was on scene and arrested for driving under the influence.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer took a stolen vehicle report including an OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) on Poppy Ln.

Dead Body: An officer was dispatched to a Harrier Ln address, in reference to a deceased person.

Theft from Vehicle: An officer took a report of stolen property from a vehicle on Wildfang Way. The officer collected information and a statement from the complainant.

Stolen Vehicle: Officer took a report of a stolen trailer from Jacaranda Way. All attempts are being made to identify the suspect(s) involved with the theft of the trailer.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officer took a report for private property accident on Pinnacle Ct. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Justice Facility, in reference to a fraud.

July 23:

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr residence reference a stolen vehicle which had been located. The vehicle was impounded and an officer’s report was completed.

July 24:

Trespassing IP: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino, in reference to a trespass call. An adult male subject was later cited and released for trespassing.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a non-injury accident which occurred between two vehicles in the intersection of W Hafen Ln & Riverside Rd.  One driver was cited for failure to stop/yield at a stop sign.  Both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: A N Sandhill Blvd service station manager reported suspicious activity which was found while reviewing security video.  Officers gathered information and video from the manager and are contacting the persons involved and are currently investigating the suspicious activity.

Phone Harassment: A person came to the police department to report they are repeatedly being harassed by another individual.  A police report was taken and an investigation into the harassment is ongoing.

Parking Problem: Officers were advised of an illegal parking problem on Lilac Ct.  The officers are attempting to make contact with the owner and have placed a Mesquite Police Department tow notification sticker on the vehicle.

July 25:

Dead Body: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd truck parking lot to assist Mesquite Fire & Rescue with a medical call. A male truck driver was found to be deceased. Clark County Coroner responded and found the male passed away due to health issues.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident at Marilyn Pkwy & Mesquite Springs Dr. No injuries were reported and a report was completed.

Minor Gambling: Mesquite Officer responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino reference an identification check. The Officer verified the minor’s age and issued a citation for minor gambling.

Background Investigation: Officer conducted a business license check.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Mesquite Officers responded to a single vehicle accident on at Turtleback Rd & Agave Rd. An investigation was conducted and the driver was issued multiple citations.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino and arrested a male who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
