Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats.

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for May 24-30, 2015.

May 24:

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation on E Pioneer Blvd. The driver was found to be in possession of burglary tools. The driver was arrested, and the investigation continues.

Theft from Vehicle: Mesquite Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd parking lot reference vandalism. The investigation is ongoing.

Minor Gambling: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino for a minor gambling. An 18 year old male adult was issued a citation for minor gambling.

May 25:

Found Property: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd business for bike that was left on the property. The bike was removed from the property.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to a report of the break in and attempted theft of a vehicle on Mesa Blvd. A crime report was taken and scene processed. An Investigation into the crime has been started.

Domestic Violence IP W/ Weapon: Officers responded to a Moss Dr residence reference a domestic disturbance.  After an investigation, two adult males and one adult female were charged with domestic battery.

May 26:

Vandalism: Officers responded to a W First North St park, where a playground slide was vandalized.  A report was taken.

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to a family argument on E Old Mill Rd.

Traffic Stop: Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Mesa Blvd and recovered items of drug paraphernalia. The driver and passengers were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference theft from a vehicle. Officers were informed by the owner of the vehicle that her vehicle keys were stolen which she left inside her vehicle.

Vandalism: Mesquite Officers responded to an Auto Mall Circle business to investigate a report of vandalism. The investigation is ongoing.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Lonesome Dove Dr who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Wanted Person: A male adult on Hillside Dr was arrested on a confirmed Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

May 27:

Search Warrant: The Mesquite Police Department executed a knock and announce search warrant of a 449 Mesa Blvd unit.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer was dispatched to intersection of a two (2) vehicle non-injury accident at Falcon Ridge Pkwy & Flat Top Mesa Dr. The report was completed and a citation was issued to the driver causing the accident

May 28:

Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to Ben Franklin & Pioneer Blvd address, in reference to property damage.

Lost Property: An officer took a report of a lost/missing cell phone on Woodbury Ln.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Raven Way address, in reference to a theft which had happened last year.

Theft: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store reference, theft of property. Two juveniles were cited and released and the property was recovered.

Wanted Person: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Justice Facility, in reference to a person with a misdemeanor warrant.  An adult female was taken into custody for the warrant.

Theft: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd residence reference a report of stolen property. A crime report was completed, and the investigation is ongoing.

Assault IP: Officer responded to a report of a battery that just occurred on Kelkim St. One adult female was cited for simple battery based on the investigation.

Theft: Officers responded to a W Pioneer Blvd retail store reference a female shoplifter. Officers issued a citation and released the female for shoplifting.

May 29:

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a Moss Dr residence on a report of a domestic dispute. One adult female was arrested based on the investigation.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino’s parking lot, in reference to a minor traffic accident, without injuries.

May 30:

Found Property: An Officer responded to the public library reference a found bicycle.  The bicycle was collected and stored for safe keeping.

Follow up Investigation: An officer conducted an arrest on E Virgin St in Bunkerville in connection with an investigation by the Investigative Service Division.

Phone Harassment: An Officer Responded to the Police Department and took a report of harassment. A report was taken for the purpose of filing for a protection order.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers responded to a Ivy Lee Crest & Bordeaux Dr neighborhood reference a reckless driver. Officer located a single vehicle accident, and the adult male driver was arrested for DUI and other traffic offenses.
