The evening of May 6 was pretty exciting for the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue Scenic Satellite Adoption Center, as one of their donkeys, Fernie, gave birth to a healthy female at 10:30 p.m. According to Joan Dunkle, they are waiting on naming the foal until she is a little older. “We try and name them based on their personality,” said Dunkle. “It’s still too early to tell, but she is developing a feisty side.”20150507_074215_220150507_074831

This foal is the first to be born at the Scenic site. The mother, Fernie, came to the Rescue in November 2014 when the PVDR did a round up in Reno. She was already pregnant at the time of arrival.

Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue is a non-profit charitable organization and is dependent on donations for its support. PVDR takes no money from any government agency. By removing the burden of donkey rescue from federal, state, county or local government, their  services have saved hundreds of thousands of tax-payer dollars. Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. All donations are tax deductible.
