Gaye Stockman, President and CEO of Mesquite Regional Business, announced her resignation at a meeting of the MRB Board of Directors onApril 10, 2015, citing the desire to be with her family in Grand Junction, Colorado. The resignation is effective April 30. The Board reluctantly accepted her resignation and thanked her for her outstanding work putting the MRB organization together, building the organizational infrastructure, helping to build significant relationships with other economic development entities, and reaching out to prospective clients that has resulted in a growing list of serious inquiries and leads.

George Gault, currently the Chair of the MRB Board, will leave the Chairman’s role in order to become the interim President and CEO, while Dan Wright, currently the Vice-Chair, will step into the Chairman’s role on an interim basis.  Ms. Stockman will remain available during this transition and for the short-term future on a consulting basis. The Board will seek to fill up to two vacant seats and will accept applications for those positions.

Gault said “Gaye has been a tremendous asset to MRB and to Mesquite.” Her knowledge of the economic development process, her professionalism, and her skills have been instrumental in bringing MRB to where it is today. We believe that the organization is poised to capitalize on several initiatives ranging from marketing Exit 118 to warehouse and distribution companies to current legislation that would facilitate bringing natural gas into Mesquite and facilitate the location of other businesses.” “From hosting business summits to developing a job fair to providing customized research for companies interested in locating a business in Mesquite, Gaye has been the driving force, and she will be missed,” Gault said.
