Lady Dawgs crush Dragons 25-6, but lose to Indian Springs 9-7
The Virgin Valley High School softball squad had their best offensive outing of the year as they crushed Del Sol High School 25-6 Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas. Bulldog catcher Tylee Robison and Jessica Barnum led the onslaught going 4-5 to lead the Dawgs. Bulldog power hitter Janella Fiso had three hits including a double and a home run. The Dawgs had 16 hits for their afternoons work. The Dragons scored their only runs in the fourth inning as they were shut down by the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs record went to 3-4 in conference play. The Ladies will host TECH on Monday April 13.
The Lady Dawgs put up three runs in the bottom of the seventh but fell short losing to the Thunderbirds 9-7 Friday afternoon in the Dawg Pound. Tylee Robison led the Dawgs with two hits and Janella Fiso stroked a double. A big fourth inning gave the T-Birds the win.
Bulldog baseball team loses big at Del Sol 12-1.
The VVHS Bulldog baseball team was no match for the Dragons as they managed only two hits in a 12-1 loss. The Dawgs got only two hits in the game, doubles by Ricky Trujillo and Jayden Perkins. The Dragons had 12 hits and scored 10 runs in two innings to win easily. The Dawgs continue Sunrise League play Monday against a good TECH team with a 6-1 league record, one game behind Boulder City.
Bulldog track teams place third at Mojave meet
The VVHS track teams placed third at a five way meet at Mojave High School Wednesday April 8. The men scored 71.33 points behind Sierra Vista’s 103.17 and host Mojave’s 131.5. The Dawgs got good performances from Dallen Wolf, who won the 110 meter high hurdles, Chase Henderson who swept the weights, Kai Mitchell win in the high jump and Charkes Erickson easily winning the pole vault. The Dawgs will host six teams on April 15 in their last home meet of the season.
The Lady Dawgs scored 68 points to take third behind Sierra Vista with 100.5 points and winner Mojave with 123.5 points. Leading the way for the girls, were Dylan Bryant with firsts in the high jump and pole vault. Dylan Bryant notched second places in both events. The Bulldog 4X100 relay team edged out Sierra Vista for first and Markell Ludvigson placed second in the triple jump.
