The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldogs trailed 8-7 after one period of play before finding their game in the second period to take a 23-19 lead at the break. The Dawgs continued their surge in the third period increasing their lead to 38-30. The Jaguars press forced turnovers and baskets but could not catch the Dawgs as the Bulldogs held on for the win 43-40. Spencer Green led the Dawgs in scoring with 15 points followed by Emma Barnum wit ten points. Center Kourtney Metzger chipped in 8 points and Brianna Todd added 7 points to the Dawgs total. The win gives the Dawgs a 10-3 1-A Sunrise League record with one game remaining against league leading Boulder City Thursday in the Dawg House. The Eagles have lost two games in a row coming into town. Their record now stands at 11-2, tied with Chaparral for the top spot.
