Jerry Burt, age 89, completed his mortal journey on March 26, 2016 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah.

He was born to Alan Wilson Burt and Esther Campbell on April 8, 1926, at Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada the third of four children.

Jerry was very proud to have served in the Canadian Navy during World War II.   After the war he married Mary Overhulser (son, Lon).  He later married Charlene Louise Burt (sons: Kevin and Bradley; daughter, Peggy).  He married Lillie Parkin, Jan. 2, 1973.

He worked as an optician for many years and also a realtor.  He liked deer and elk hunting, growing beautiful flowers and vegetables, Diet Coke, and jelly beans.  Jerry and Lillie enjoyed extensive travels and thrived on rock hunting excursions into the deserts of Utah with grandchildren Holly and Blaine.  After retiring they spent their winters in Ajo, Arizona for many years.  Jerry was a licensed HAM radio operator and he was a member of the Virgin Valley Amateur Radio Club.

Jerry was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and member of Mesquite 6th Ward.   He is survived by children, Lon Burt (Cindy) Florida; Kevin Burt (Hilda) Alberta, Canada; Peggy Sperling (Jon) and Bradley Burt (Errin) Arvada, Colorado, and step-daughter Judy Prince (George) Mesquite, NV. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Trowbridge of Victoria, Canada.  Preceded in death by sweetheart, Lillie, in 2013; parents, former wife Charlene, grandson, Scott; sisters Joyce Watson and Audrey Trowbridge.  Thanks to the friends, ward members and the caregivers at Highland Manor for their compassion and care given to Jerry during the past year.
