Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Dec. 21 – Dec. 27, 2014.

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation and a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we will be including a weekly roster of stats.

Dec. 21:
Wanted Person: An Officer responded to the Mesquite Detention facility, reference a male in the lobby with a Bench Warrant. Identity of the male was verified and the male was placed in to custody.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer responded to the Smith’s parking lot for an accident, involving a vehicle backing onto another vehicle. An exchange of information was completed.
Lost Property: An officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd business in reference to a lost license plate.

Hit & Run: An Officer responded to the area of Old Mill Rd and Sandhill Blvd for a reported Hit and Run accident. The Officer found that no damage had happened, but it was reported the driver of the vehicle who had left the area, may be intoxicated. An attempt to locate was unsuccessful.

Weapon Offense: Officers contacted an adult male subject in a N Sandhill Blvd convenience store parking lot. The male was arrested for two weapons offenses and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Trespassing: Police responded to a trespass violator at a W Pioneer Blvd casino. One adult male was issued a citation for trespassing and released with a court date.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd apartment building parking lot for a non-injury accident. The driver was arrested for DUI following an investigation.

Dec. 22:
Civil Matter: An Officer responded to a Valley View Circle residence to take a report of a possible stolen vehicle. It was determined to be a civil issue between a father and daughter. The issue was resolved between the two of them.

Theft: An Officer responded to a Willow Bridge Ln residence for a report of theft from the garage. The home owner reported he had left his garage door open and an unknown person entered and stole an item. A theft report was completed.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Moss Dr residence reference a reported domestic battery between an adult male and female. The male was arrested for domestic battery.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted an adult male on N Sandhill Blvd with an active Mesquite Municipal Court warrant. The male was arrested for the warrant.

Dec. 23:
Minor Possessing/Consuming: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Second South St. An adult male passenger was arrested for an alcohol offense. Three other occupants of the vehicle were issued citations for an alcohol offense.

Fraud: An Officer took a telephone report of possible credit card fraud. Reporting party said the last place he used his debit card was in Mesquite. A report was taken and the information was investigated.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino to investigate an attempted burglary. Officers gathered physical and electronic evidence at the scene of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Mesquite Police and Fire & Rescue responded to a two vehicle accident at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd. All involved parties were checked and released and an accident report was completed.

Driving Under the Influence: Officers received a report of a possible intoxicated motorcycle operator in the area of Thistle St & Second South St. The male operator was located and arrested for driving under the influence and an outstanding warrant.

Dec. 24:
Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on Riverside Rd. The adult male driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Theft: Officers responded to a N Sandhill Blvd residence reference the theft of a motorized wheelchair from a vehicle.

Burglary: Officers responded to a Wagon Wheel Run residence reference a burglary. Detectives responded and a report was taken.

Dec. 25:
Trespassing: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd intersection reference an intoxicated male standing in the roadway. Upon arrival the male was gone, but Officers located the male trespassing at a business. The male was arrested and taken to Mesquite Detention Center.

Suspicious/Person: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvdl casino regarding a possible intoxicated subject. Officer arrested one adult female for breach of peace.

Dec. 26:
Theft: Officer responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence regarding theft of property. Information was obtained from the victim and a report was taken. Investigation is ongoing.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a Cascade Ave residence regarding damage to property. Officer spoke with victim and a report was taken.

Dec. 27:
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a two-vehicle/non injury accident at the intersection of Sandhiill Blvd and Old Mill Rd. Information was obtained and a report completed.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer responded to a Glade Rd residence for a report of vandalism, property damage to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. A report was taken and an investigation started into the vandalism.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police responded to a vandalism report at a Glade Rd residence. A report was taken and officers are attempting to locate the suspect(s).
