The US Census Bureau will host a free workshop for Mesquite grant writers on Thursday, June 20 at  8:30 a.m. , at the College of Southern Nevada – Mesquite Campus (140 N. Yucca Street).  The Census Data for Grantwriters Workshop is geared toward professionals and individuals interested in learning the basics of using census data in grant proposal writing.  Workshop participants will learn where to locate census demographics to help build an effective case for project funding.

Major Workshop Topics Include: Census Concepts & Geography, Navigating the Census Website, Understanding Census Data Products, and Presenting Data in a Grant Proposal.

Attendees will ‘learn by doing’ by going online and learning to access mapping tools, tables, and other government grant writing resources.
