When someone does an exceptional job, people are bound to take notice. Mesquite Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Brenda Snell’s hard work, effort, and successes over the past two and a half years have not been overlooked. Brenda has accepted the position of Human Resources Manager for Deep Roots Harvest. She has agreed to stay on board and help transition her successor at the Chamber. We wish Brenda all the best in her new endeavor and thank her profusely for a job well done making the Chamber what it is today.

The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously voted to offer Jayne Kendrick, President and Owner of JL Kendrick Company, the position of President and CEO of the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, which she has accepted. Jayne has been a board member for the past two years. She has served as treasurer of the Chamber, and had previously been a member of the Executive Board. As treasurer and head of finance, Jayne has done a superlative job for the Chamber helping develop a solid financial foundation. Jayne possesses a sharp business acumen and brings a wealth of business background to her new position. We anticipate a seamless transition with Jayne and Brenda working together to move the Chamber forward. Jayne’s commitment to the Chamber over the past two years is indicative of what she will bring to us in the future. The Board is excited to have Jayne take over leadership of the Chamber.

Dave Ballweg, current board member and secretary of the Chamber will assume the responsibilities of Secretary/Treasurer for the 2018 Chamber year. The Chamber would like to thank Dave for stepping up to this challenge.

Claudia Carlsen has been elected as a new board member to serve a three-year term. Claudia is not a stranger to the Chamber or its members. She has served as a volunteer during many Chamber functions, as well as helping at the Chamber office. Claudia brings a 25-year track record of proven success managing large-scale HOA communities in New Mexico and Las Vegas. She has also managed the water and sewer Co-op for her community.  In her spare time, Claudia volunteers for the Salvation Army, the Virgin Valley Theater, and the annual Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the Senior Center. The Chamber is very fortunate to have Claudia join us as a new board member.

Please join us in thanking Brenda Snell for her past and future support, and welcoming Jayne, Dave, and Claudia to their new positions. Change is inevitable in any organization. How we manage that change sets the stage for future success. The Chamber is excited about the impending changes and believes we are poised for a successful future.
