MESQUITE, NEVADA – Eureka Casino Resort is gearing up for a full weekend of Halloween celebrations, starting with the 14th annual Shreeek-Reeka on October 30 and continuing with the debut of the adults-only Freeek-Reeka on October 31.
Both events will take place in the resort’s VIP parking lot, bringing together families, local businesses, nonprofits, and partygoers for a mix of spooky fun and lively nightlife.
Shreeek-Reeka began as a small neighborhood gathering and has grown into one of Mesquite’s most beloved traditions. With more than 1,000 attendees expected, the festivities from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will include four haunted houses, more than 20 trick-or-treat booths, carnival games, and plenty of candy.
Families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy a night designed for kids of all ages. Eureka employee-owners play a key role, volunteering as actors, decorators, and booth hosts to make the night run smoothly.
“Shreeek-Reeka has grown beyond our wildest expectations, and it’s a joy to see the community come together every year,” said Gerri Chasko, Director of the Eureka Community Initiative. “The creativity and enthusiasm from our local partners make it a truly special event.”
One of the evening’s highlights is the haunted house contest, where local nonprofit groups compete for a $1,000 donation prize. Each group receives $500 from the Eureka Community Initiative to build its own 20×40-foot haunted house, and attendees help choose their favorite design while a panel of judges selects the scariest overall.
This year’s participants include Virgin Valley Artists Association, Mesquite Rotary Clubs, Virgin Valley High School Theater Group, and Virgin Valley High School Future Farmers of America.
Following Shreeek-Reeka, Eureka is introducing Freeek-Reeka, a 21+ Halloween celebration on October 31 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Guests can dance to DJ Fuego, enjoy food trucks, and compete for prizes, including best costume.
A $10 cover charge includes one free drink and entry into six $100 Free Play drawings, with winners awarded on the casino floor at 10:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (Gold Club membership required to win).
“Shreeek-Reeka brings the entire community together to celebrate Halloween, showing what it truly means to be part of the Mesquite community,” said Andre Carrier, CEO of Eureka Casinos. “We’re all in this together, building a celebration that families — and now adults — can enjoy year after year.”
