Earlier this week, Lt. Col. David Flippo, who is running for Nevada’s 4th Congressional District made stops around the district, including in Mesquite.

On Sept. 13, Flippo hosted an event at the Mesquite Veterans Centers. It was one of 10 stops for the candidate over a four-day stretch, which  concluded the following day in Moapa Valley and North Las Vegas.

Flippo also visited cities such as Tonopah and Pahrump during his visi

Throughout his tour schedule, especially during his time in Mesquite, in addition to being in Caliente before coming to Mesquite, Flippo also announced his policy agenda. His agenda included ways to fix the economy, strengthening national defense, restoring the nation’s energy independence and others.

The goal of his tour schedule was to persuade Nevada voters how Republicans hope to change things with Flippo as a future leader.

“The disaster created by Biden’s Democrats hurts all Nevadans,” Flippo said in a press release. “The leaders taking over our state fight for their own interests, at the expense of everyday people. The people see this, so I want to hear from them, and tell them that they have a leader that will represent them, and their values.”

Nevada has not been a red state following a presidential election since George W. Bush was elected in 2004 as it was also a red state from 1968 to 1988.

GOP candidate Donald Trump, who was looking to serve another four years, received 33,000 less votes compared to Joe Biden during the previous presidential election.

However, the 4th Congressional District, has been a swing district, going back and forth from blue to red and vice versa through the years.

“It’s time to Flip Nevada Red, the future of our state depends upon it,” Flippo said.
