ESL placement test slated for Aug. 2 at CSN Mesquite
The placement test for free English as a Second Language classes is scheduled Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. at the College of Southern Nevada Mesquite campus, 140 N. Yucca Blvd.
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes provide Intermediate to Advanced English literacy skills to non-native English speaking participants. High School Equivalency (HSE) classes provide participants the necessary education to complete their HiSET/GED by focusing on mathematics, reading and writing, science & social studies.
The free classes will be held online.

Flow yoga offered by Nikki Owsley
Yoga with Nikki is a flow yoga class, a continuous flow of movement and breath that generates a meditative state, encouraging practitioners to let go of thoughts and focus on experience of the present moment.
Classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at the Jimmy Hughes Campus, 150 N. Yucca Blvd., Suite 8.
Punch passes can be purchased for $70 (10 classes), $40 (five classes) or drop ins for $10.

Rec soccer program signups under way
FC Mesquite KICKS recreation soccer program sign ups are under way, with regular registration pricing of $60 through July 15. Last chance registration cost of $70 runs from July 16 through 31.
Player birth dates must be between Aug. 1, 2011 through July 31, 2019. Games begin Sept. 9 and run through Oct. 28 on Saturday evenings at the Rec Center fields.

Sunrise Rotary golf tourney slated oct. 14
The Mesquite Sunrise Rotary 16th annual golf tournament is scheduled Oct. 14 at Oasis Golf Club’s Canyons Course. The golf tournament will benefit the Mesquite Nevada Sunrise Rotary Foundation to support Mesquite Reads program and local scholarships.
The format is a four-person scramble with an awards buffet after the tournament at Eureka Town Square.
Cost is $640 for a team package that includes four golfers, awards buffet and swag bag. Individual golfers can pay$160 and awards buffet guests are $25.
