The Virgin Valley High softball team reached the state championship game by virtue of a close 2-1 win over Fernley on Friday afternoon at Fernley.
The Bulldogs, who have lost only one game all season with 35 wins, opened the tournament with a 8-3 win over North Valleys.
Virgin Valley will again play Fernley in the championship game Saturday. If Fernley wins, the two teams will play again immediately aftewards.
