On Aug. 19, at about 10 p.m. a Mesquite police officer stopped a vehicle for multiple traffic violations. While speaking with the vehicle occupants, the officer observed several indicators of criminal activity inside the vehicle.

The officer conducted a search of the vehicle and located a battery-powered saw next to a muffler with fresh cut marks in the back seat. Officers coordinated with Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies and determined the muffler was stolen off a van in Scenic, Arizona, just minutes prior to the traffic stop. While searching the vehicle, officers also recovered several items of drug paraphernalia, approximately 5 grams of methamphetamine and over 100 prescription pills allegedly laced with dangerous fentanyl.
The driver, Anthony Reyes, 34, of Peyton, Colorado, was arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance, gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
John Selby, 35, of Mesquite, was arrested and charged with felony possession of stolen property, gross misdemeanor possession of burglary tools, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Due to the felony charges, both were transported to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

Heck I was raised in Oklahoma – where a siphon hose used to steal gasoline from a car’s fuel tank is fondly referred to as an “Oklahoma credit card”. By the way, I’ve been looking for a muffler – can you tell me what this one fits? LOL/Just Kidding. We do have a good PD and it is appreciated.
