Mesquite Woman Arrested for Burglary and Auto Theft
Mesquite, NV – In the early morning hours of August 5, 2021 at approximately 2:30 a.m. a proactive Mesquite officer observed an unregistered vehicle driving on a public roadway. The officer stopped the vehicle and determined the driver had several active misdemeanor arrest warrants out of Mesquite. The driver was placed under arrest and the vehicle was impounded due to lack of registration, insurance and proof of ownership.
Later that morning, an officer responded to an auto dealership for a report of a vehicle stolen from the lot overnight. The officer reviewed surveillance footage of a female breaking into the dealership, taking a key from the office, then stealing a vehicle. The officer immediately identified the female as the same that was stopped while driving the stolen vehicle and arrested earlier that morning.
Kishna Neshae Corral, 29, of Mesquite was arrested and charged with felony burglary of a business, felony grand larceny of motor vehicle, felony possession of a stolen vehicle and several misdemeanor warrants.
Due to the felony charges, Corral was transported to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Chief MaQuade Chesley said “this traffic stop quickly evolved from a stop for a registration violation to solving a burglary and recovering a stolen vehicle. This is further proof of how important proactive policing is to keeping Mesquite such an amazing city”.
