Bulldog senior Nathalie Lagamayo continued to lead the scoring with 14 and 11 points for the week. A senior, Lagamayo has started for the Dawgs since her freshman season.

It was a good week for the Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog basketball team as they ran over Chaparral and Sky pointe High Schools. The wins were the Dawgs fourth straight over 3A Sunrise league opponents and sixth in a row overall. The wins moved the Dawgs to third place in league play.

The Dawgs offense and defense jumped all over Chaparral in the first period holding the Cowboys to 3 points well putting up 21 points in the period. The Bulldogs added to their advantage in the second period outscoring Chaparral 16-7 to take a 37-10 lead into the break. The teams battled evenly the rest of the second half with the Dawgs winning easily 53-25. Nathalie Lagamayo and Alexis Boatright led the Bulldogs with 14 points each. The Dawgs record now stands at 4-2 in Sunrise League play.

The Lady Dawgs followed the win over Chaparral destroying Sky Pointe 62-10 on Friday January 24 in Las Vegas. The Lady Bulldogs scored an amazing 31 points in the first period while holding the Eagles to 2 points. The score at the half was 46-4 as the Dawgs could no wrong on the court. Boatright and Lagamayo led the Dawgs with 22 and 11 points respectively.

The Bulldogs host Moapa Valley on Tuesday Jan. 28 and travel to Sunrise Mountain on January 30. The Bulldogs hope to avenge early season losses to the Pirates and Miners.
