Alberta Lee Avery passed away in her sleep, Tuesday morning, November 5, 2019 at her home in Mesquite, Nevada.  She was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming , February 12, 1934 to William (Sonny) Fletcher and Louise (Boots) Hardin Fletcher.

Alberta graduated from Rock Springs High School with the class of 1953.  She work for School District #1 as the Lunch Program Manager, and Sweetwater County Assessor’s office, ultimately retiring from OCI in 2002.  She married Bob Avery in 1994, in Rock Springs.  In 2013, they purchased a home in Mesquite, NV to escape the cold blizzards of Wyoming.  Together they traveled the world experiencing China, Italy and Mexico, in addition to many States in the United States.  She said her favorite trip was a cruise to Alaska with their friend from Mesquite. Alberta was an avid fisherwoman, camping was also a favorite past time.  She was always ready to go to a movie or watch television (especially westerns).  Buttered popcorn was a necessity.  Alberta was an avid reader, and talented dancer.  As a teenager, she held dance lessons in her mother’s kitchen.  She was an excellent bowler and bridge player.  Christmas was such a special and memorable time for her family.

She is survived by her husband; Bob Avery, brother; William Fletcher (Kelly) of Rock Springs, WY, daughters; Debra Kruljac (Mark Caballero) of Walhalla, SC, Sandra DaRif (Cameron), Mary Lee Lord (Christopher) of Rock Springs, WY, sons; Joseph Kruljac, of Rock Springs, WY, Lance Kruljac (Scott Merle) of Palm Springs, CA, grandchildren; Clint Wonnacott, Jeramiah Wonnacott, Kyle DaRif, Megan Crouch (Drew), Courtney Lord, Brett Kruljac, Jason Kruljac, Devin Kruljac, Kelcie Kruljac, great-grandson; Joseph, nephew; Glen Fletcher (Kris), niece; Diane Fletcher-Bishop.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; Louise and William Fletcher, son; David and nephew; Kevin Fletcher.
