The Virgin Valley High School soccer gals had a good week winning their fourth and fifth games in a row. The Dawgs defeated Chaparral 1-0 on Monday Oct.21 and SLAM Academy 2-0 on Wednesday Oct 23. Emma Hughes had the game’s only goal and Erin Ofori had the shutout for the Dawgs in their win over the Cowboys. Leslie Salazar and Reanna Slack had a goal each in the win over the Bulls. Gracie Draney and Emma Hughes had the assists to lead the Dawgs to the win. Goalkeeper Ofori notched her sixth shutout of the season. The Lady Dawgs season record went to 12-2-3 and 7-2-2 in 3A Sunrise League play. The Bulldogs trail first place leader Boulder City who have an 8-1-1 record with one league game remaining. The Lady Dawgs host third place archrival Moapa Valley to end the season. The Bulldogs last defeat was at the hands of the Pirates on October 7. A win insures the Dawgs hosting a playoff game.

It wasn’t such a good week for the Bulldogs as they lost two games at the hands of Chaparral and SLAM Academy. The Dawgs were shutout 8-0 by the Cowboys and lost 4-1 to the Bulls. Freshman Zach Trimming had the only goal for the Dawgs, his 17th of the year. The Dawgs sit in fourth place in 3A Sunrise League play and travel to Moapa Valley on Oct. 31 to end the season.
