Friday was not a good day for Beaver Dam High athletics. Both the Diamondback football and volleyball teams lost road contests at Beatty in 1-A South League play.

The BDHS football team fell 26-10 to the host Hornets keeping the D-Backs winless on the season. Beaver Dam is now 0-6 overall and 0-2 in league play. Beatty improved to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in league.

The Diamondbacks special teams scored the only touchdown of the night for BDHS. The other D-Back points came on a safety.

Beaver Dam will look to crack the win column this Friday when it hosts Indian Springs at 6 p.m. in the Snake Pit.

Indian Springs comes into the contest with a four-game losing streak and is 1-4 overall and 0-2 in league play. The Thunderbirds won their season opener against Mountain View Christian (36-22), but has lost their last four contests to The Meadows (52-26), Laughlin (52-8), Pahranagat Valley (48-8) and Green Valley Christian (58-22).

Meanwhile, the Lady Diamondbacks saw their seven match winning streak come to an end with a 3-0 loss to the Lady Hornets. Beatty prevailed by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-22.

The Lady D-Backs are now 10-6 overall and 1-1 in league play while Beatty improved to 2-3 overall and 2-1 in league.

BDHS will look to rebound from Friday’s defeat with two crucial league matches looming this week. The Lady D-Backs will host Word of Life from Las Vegas on Tuesday and Indian Springs on Friday. Both matches are scheduled for 4 p.m. in the BDHS gymnasium.

Word of Life is currently 1-2 in league and 3-5 overall while Indian Springs is 1-2 in league and 1-6 overall.

Pahranagat Valley is in first place at 3-0 with Beatty, Green Valley Christian and Liberty Baptist tied for second at 2-1. Beaver Dam is currently in fifth place at 1-1.
