We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all that participated in our 13th Annual Christmas in July this year. This year was a great success.

Our industry is Homeowner’s Association management. We have the pleasure of interacting with community members every day and yet every year we are amazed and moved by what can be accomplished when this community works together and rallies behind a cause.

The staff at Highland Manor and Beehive Homes supply us with a list of residents and their likes, dislikes and wish lists. Through the generous support of the community we can fill each box with personal items such as soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner and dental kits. We put your donation to good use and pay special attention to the toiletry requests – if a resident wants Jergen’s Shea Butter lotion, Jergen’s Shea Butter lotion is what we buy and put in their gift box.

With the support of the community again this year, we were able to supply each resident with a new shirt, loungewear or special request clothing. Muumuu style dresses were popular this year and are hard to find locally. Your donation meant that we could order these online and what a big hit they were when the boxes were opened. There were enough donations this year that we were able to visit the Big and Tall store in Las Vegas to shop for some of the larger residents and treat them to some higher quality items than the plain t-shirts that are more easily found for those sizes. Some of the special request items included an electric razor, an electric toothbrush, tennis shoes and lots of snacks. All special request items were filled this year!

Some special shout outs this year – Lisa Roberts, a complete Rockstar who seemed to get to every single resident to spread the cheer. We can always count on Julie Stoltz to donate beautiful handmade crocheted blankets that are always such a hit with the residents. A big thanks to Dr. Alex Blazzard for supplying the dental kits the last 13 years, this really saves us from having to dip into donated monies to cover this item. To Debbie Oskin, who donates wonderful Avon toiletries and jewelry every year, which is such a treat. And to Bill Oskin, who stepped up with his truck this year with very little notice to help drive and deliver the gifts to the manor. And finally, The Mesquite Showgirls, who we all know are always fabulous but are also incredibly kind, and were so attentive to the residents as they opened their gifts.

And thank you to all the other program supporters for their generosity that helped this program succeed another year (our fellow elves!):
