‘Oh! The things you can find’ on the walls of the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery where visual treasures abound. Virgin Valley Artists and Bill Mitchell (Farmers Insurance), sponsors of this month’s exhibit, have given you an eclectic array of found items. From fish to soaring eagles, there are as many depictions of things found as there are artists and ways to convey them.
Tyler Roylance’s dog Spot found a rat according to the ceramic display by this artist. Floyd Johnsons band of Pirates found the buried treasure they’ve been seeking and First Place winner in this month’s display, Sherry Washburn found the beauty in a Bristol Cone Pine Tree somewhere in Bryce Canyon.
You can find these and many other treasures when you visit the Mesquite Fine Arts Center now through the end of Oct.
There will be a reception and award ceremony for the already judged entries along with the announcement of People’s Choice and Sponsor’s Choice awards during the Open House event on Thursday Oct. 24 from 4-6 p.m. The reception is free to the public; all are welcome.
The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is operated by the Virgin Valley Artist’s Association (VVAA). VVAA members provide the original artwork that is shown in the gallery and gift shop. All art is offered for sale and displays are changed monthly. In addition to the special exhibitions, members show their fine works in a wide variety of mediums.
