Light a Candle

Remember Me Thursday, September 26. 2019

Animal-lovers and animal welfare organizations across the globe will unite on Thursday, September 26. 2019 (the fourth Thursday of September, annually) with a Remember Me Thursday™ pet candle-lighting ceremony. The candles, lit on the exact same day across the world, will honor the millions of pets who lost their lives without the benefit of a loving home and shine a light on the millions of healthy pets who are still awaiting adoption. The Remember Me Thursday global awareness campaign encourages individuals to light a candle this day (literally or virtually) and to opt to adopt, reducing the millions of orphan pets euthanized each year.

By lighting a candle on Remember Me Thursday, September 26. 2019, you are remembering those pets that have lost their lives but you are also shining a light on orphan pets in need of homes right now.

Featured Dog- Ziggy

Ziggy is shy until he knows you and feels safe. He was found as a stray so we have no history on him. He is learning to trust, loves being petted and having belly rubs. He will follow you around the yard. He knows sit and is learning to walk on a leash. He is unsure about what toys are for but shows interest in them. Beautiful colors in his brindle coat. Would do best in home with older children.

Other available dogs

Roxie is a Catahoula Leopard dog mix. She has a beautiful patterned gray/black coat and striking blue eyes. She loves to play with tennis balls and be with people.

Peanut Senior border collie/beagle blend. He will do best in a quiet home with no children or other animals. He is happy to stay by your side and watch TV

Featured Cat- Magnus

Magnus is a special needs cat. Due to a neurological condition he needs daily medication and food to help with his gastrointestinal tract. He has a slight wobble when he walks but this does not keep him from running, climbing and jumping like any other cat. He is 3 years old and a beautiful silver tabby. He loves everyone, will come when called and has made himself at home with the other cats. If you are willing to provide his medication and food he is ready to give you all his love in return. He loves to watch TV.
