On 7/17/19 at approximately 7:20 p.m. Mesquite Police responded to a plane crash at the Mesquite Municipal Airport. Mesquite Fire Rescue also responded and extinguished the blaze that had engulfed the downed aircraft.
Officers determined the pilot and lone occupant of the plane was under the influence of alcohol and placed him into custody. Ryan Dashiell, 41, of Spokane, Washington was arrested for suspicion of operating an aircraft while under the influence of intoxicating liquor, a gross misdemeanor. Due to the gross misdemeanor charge Dashiell will be transported to Clark County Detention Center.
The Mesquite Police Department is cooperating with the Federal Aviation Administration during this investigation. The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be released at a later time.
